An Duong is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist based in the historic city of Hue, Vietnam. Deeply rooted in Vietnamese cultural heritage,  practice explores the subtle grace, identity, and emotional depth of Vietnamese women. Spanning watercolor, mixed media, limited edition fine art prints, and original oil paintings, his work bridges traditional roots with modern artistic expressions.

Hi, I’m An Duong.

“Art, for me, is an evolving exploration of mediums, textures, and Vietnamese heritage.”

Living and working in Hue, I am constantly immersed in a city where deep history and daily life intertw. My passion lies in capturing the authentic beauty and spirit of Vietnamese women—incorporating the vibrant colors, patterns, and living traditions that surround me into every piece.

My artistic path has never been static. I believe in pushing creative boundaries, which has led me through continuous experiments across watercolor on paper, mixed media, digital painting, and fine art prints. Each medium offers me a distinct language to express emotion.

Currently, my practice balances two main pillars: creating exclusive limited edition fine art prints digitally, and diving deeply into oil painting—a rich, tactile chapter on canvas. Whether it is a numbered fine art print, a delicate watercolor, or an original oil painting like Ru Em, my hope is to evoke deep emotion and connect you to the enduring beauty of Vietnamese culture.

What mediums and materials do you work with?

My practice spans both traditional fine art and digital mediums:

  • Original Traditional Artworks: I work primarily with oil on canvas, watercolor on paper, and mixed media—combining delicate layers with rich, tactile textures.

  • Digital Works & Limited Edition Prints: I paint digitally on an iPad Pro using Procreate. These original digital creations are released as exclusive, limited edition fine art prints (numbered and signed). I also utilize Procreate for initial composition studies and concept explorations for my physical canvas paintings.
